Primary Results
I want to extend a
special thanks to all the supporters who helped me in my successful
bid through the Lake City primary.
Primary voters are not
the same demographic as general election voters - so with this
advantage, my strong showing in the primary and your continued support
we'll be able to move this city forward in January of 2009!
Thanks again!
Andrew
Moving Lake City forward
Drawing on a lifetime of service – as
chairs of the Lake City Planning Commission and Utility Board, in
Peace Corps, teaching college, and in Lake City Kiwanis and
Rotary – Andrew has a vision for Lake City. He pictures a city that is
thriving while maintaining the small-town feel that makes this such a
special place.
Leadership that listens
Andrew understands good things won’t
happen just because we want them to. A mayor’s job is to listen to
citizens, take their ideas and help move them forward.
Instead of producing studies and
plans that collect dust on a shelf, Andrew believes Lake City’s
government should first embrace the best existing ideas and work hard
to make them a reality.
Community ties
Andrew’s roots in Lake City run deep.
He spent more than a decade in management at Wild Wings, the family
business and one of the firms that helped Lake City become known
across the country.
After earning a Master’s degree in
International Management, he served in various roles for Lake City
businesses before establishing his own company.
His love of Lake City led him to
take on a variety of civic roles, both in government and service
organizations.
His colleagues on both the Utility
Board and Planning Commission elected him chairman. Andrew has developed a
reputation as someone who has the ability to gather people with various viewpoints
and help them reach common ground. It’s a useful skill for the
21st-century challenges Lake City faces.
